Because being a teenager is hard…
The demands of high school and college can feel overwhelming.. Maybe you are struggling with friendships or are feeling disconnected from others. Loneliness, stress, and anxiety may be impacting your ability to study or get your school assignments completed. You are expected to take on some of the responsibilities of being a young adult, yet you are not always treated as such. On top of that, you are constantly being asked about your plans for the future. Making decisions about life after graduation can feel like a daunting task to navigate, especially when you are still trying to figure out who you are and what you want out of life.
Some days you may feel anxious and overwhelmed and other days you may feel lethargic and unmotivated. Sometimes life may feel too complicated to figure out and other times you may just choose to avoid thinking about life altogether. In therapy, we will work to build your self-trust and self-confidence to make you feel more in control of your life, excited about the future, and capable of coping with the challenging times.
Some of the things therapy can help you with include:
Understanding how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors impact your day to day life.
Learning healthy coping skills.
Improving your communication with family and friends.
Setting healthy boundaries in relationships.
Becoming comfortable with and embracing your authentic self!
Sometimes teens need someone to talk to that isn’t a friend or family member. Therapy provides a safe place for teens to explore difficult subjects on their own and build their self-confidence.
Being a teenager doesn’t have to be quite so hard…
I’m here to help you build resilience and overcome stress during this time of transition and self-discovery.
